I hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

The first Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1620 at Plymouth Rock.  By 1863, it had become an annual tradition here in America.  When 1940 rolled around, Franklin Roosevelt designated the third Thursday of November as the day we remember that the first sharing of thanks so long ago.

May you share this Thanksgiving with family and good friends.  I hope that it is a day full of remembrance, good food, and tons of football!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hijacked yet again!

Hello, it’s me Jake again!

John happened to head out to yet another garage sale today, so I decided to do another blog post for the big guy!

While I was out with him at an estate sale, I saw the neatest thing—it’s a character spoon by the Charlton Silver Plate Company.  It features BETTY LOU From Tommy Riggs And Betty Lou Radio Show that aired from 1938 to 1946.

What’s cool about it is Betty Lou can also be viewed from the back with her hands crossed behind her on the spoon.

This would be a great addition in quite a few different collections—it would be great for spoon, character, or tea related collectors.  It would even be a fun addition to a kids room!

You can see this wonderful spoon in my Etsy store here.

Have you found anything like this at a sale you attended?
