Hijacked yet again!

Hello, it’s me Jake again!

John happened to head out to yet another garage sale today, so I decided to do another blog post for the big guy!

While I was out with him at an estate sale, I saw the neatest thing—it’s a character spoon by the Charlton Silver Plate Company.  It features BETTY LOU From Tommy Riggs And Betty Lou Radio Show that aired from 1938 to 1946.

What’s cool about it is Betty Lou can also be viewed from the back with her hands crossed behind her on the spoon.

This would be a great addition in quite a few different collections—it would be great for spoon, character, or tea related collectors.  It would even be a fun addition to a kids room!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Man alive!  This has been one fun birthday, it wore me out!

I don't know what was more fun, the new toys or the dinner.  There was ribeye steak, vanilla ice cream and cake, peas, and rice.

And do you know what?  I went for a walk after dinner.  There was more fun than you could shake a stick at.

Turning the big Oh-9 is turning out to be more fun than ever.

Hi, I’m Jake the dog.  I’m John’s shopping partner in the world of antiques.

Now, I must say, that guy is pretty smart when it comes to spotting a good deal, or even something for me to play with.  My tip for the holidays, especially on a day like July 4th?  I would try to drink as much fluids as possible, especially on hot days like today.

The other thing that you should do is to go with a shopping buddy.  It doesn't matter how big the garage sale of antique mall is, it's always a good thing to have an extra set of eyes with you.

Have a Great July 4th holiday, and make sure that you pass some sweet tea and a hot dog my way!

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, the best times are spent with a good friend or family member.  Why not have both in the same person…or should I say dog?

When walking my dog in the morning, I often find a garage sale that hasn’t been listed in the local paper, or on the internet.

The best tip that anyone could get is to keep an eye peeled where you live.  You could possibly find that garage sale that has a great haul that is just waiting for you to find.
